This is a global research-driven pharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of human and animal health products directly and through its joint ventures, and provides pharmaceutical benefit services through one of it's subsidiary companies. The client conducts research and manufactures products at numerous major research centers throughout the world, and sells products in approximately 150 countries.
Client Opportunity
The client wanted to enhance it's enterprise planning performance solution. The planning application existed as an independent system and it was not cohesive. Users needed the capability to view data and perform adhoc reporting.
Niteo's Solution
Niteo proposed using the Adaytum Planning and Forecasting System. The goal of this system is to provide users with the necessary financial data within the firm (both in the local branches and in global planning) and provide the ability to easily access data.
As Adaytum was acquired by the Cognos Corporation in January 2003, and the Adaytum tool was integrated into the CognosŪ Enterprise Planning Solution, Niteo was able to provide a value-added solution combining both it's Adaytum and Cognos expertise. The Adaytum Planning Tool helps build models quickly. The contributor tool collects data from several users via a web interface. The project replaced existing reports with a reporting application, so that one application can be used by multiple users. Several value added services such as business/end users in model development, web functionality and performance tuning was completed. Niteo provided the company seamless integration of the data in the local repository in a five-year trend. Niteo also provided training for business/end users in model development, web functionality, automation, reporting and fine-tuning for enhanced performance.
Client Result
The new planning system is part of the CognosŪ Management Series and is vastly superior to the previous one in terms of scalability, maintenance, support and integration into the finance information infrastructure. Niteo's services resulted in the client having a cutting edge solution for their enterprise planning performance solution.
